Hello, well if you clicked my profile i'm assuming you found some interest in my photos and photography, so i'll start by saying 'thank you' for passing by.

Been a keen photographer for at least 40 years having started with a little point 'n' shoot 35mm camera from 'Tudor film'. For a cheapo camera (at the time) it took surprisingly good pix and used it for a good couple of years until I moved up and got my first SLR. A prakitica BC1 bought on the never-never from a catalogue Co back in about 1994/5. This was the one that set me up for photography.

Long story short...The Practika got dropped and was never again to see film so I was without a camera. I happeded to visit a car boot fair and picked up a fully working Zenit EM which with a bit of work took fabulous photos (coupled with a 50mm helios lens which now sits and lives on my Nikon D40) and used that 'til about 1998. I finally ended up with a Minolta XG-1 which was my go-to camera and was always loaded and ready to go. Fabulous SLR in my opinion. Done all my collage work on it. And as for slides, it was bang on nearly every time. I had the Minolta and wanted to go digital so bought myself a new shiney Nikon D40 sometime back in 2006. Fabulous camera and finally upgraded to a D3300. Then the current situation took hold and I started to get bored...very bored very quickly.

I'm a bassist in a prog-rock band and since this virus nastiness has took hold the band haven't even seen each other for nearly two years. Bored bored bored. I thought to myself, i'll dig out my Minolta, stick some film in it and go out and do some serious stuff.

Went back to dev'ing my own B/W films as well and that was a pure joy to get back into. I bought a starter kit from ILFORD, a dev tank etc and got on to the job in question. Creating images ! So I now live with my Partner who hates me for hogging the sink and kitchen space space lol.

Not only did I dig out the old Minolta, I went a bit crazy on Ebay and Gumtree and scored a whole bunch of used and chancey cameras to go with my old but reliable SLR's. And below is now what i'm currently using....not all at the same time I hasten to add Lol

On a serious note, GAS can seem a bit of a tongue-in-cheek, funny way of expressing our love for cameras. The down side is, it cripples your wallet, a lot of disappointment, spending fortunes on film only to shoot the same thing over and over again. The time and energy into starring at the bay when you could be out shooting. It's an addiction that can't be satisfied. Take a look at the list below. How many Nikon's do I need eh ? And two (that's 2) Smena 8M's...really ! I'll never use them. All I'm saying is beware when drooling over an old Voigtlander or Yashica as it simply won't stop there. How many do you need ? Be happy and delighted with the camera you have...happy shooting to you all 😁
