Introducing @juhudi and Her Multiple Exposures

I am Judith, a native of East Berlin and 35 years old. I can't remember a time when I didn't take photographs. When I was a child, there was only film photography and when I got older, I just stuck with it. I enjoy experimental photography so much because there are no rules and the surprise is the biggest when you pick up your negatives from the lab. Sometimes the whole film didn't turn out great, that's also part of analogue photography, that what you planned didn't work out, but sometimes you're just totally surprised with a result because it turned out better than you could have wished for.

I did my first multiple exposures with my Holga medium format camera. It was an accident and totally unplanned, I only saw it when I printed the photo and only then found out that I could do it with the Holga!

My favorite thing is multiple exposures with the self-timer, which I have only just discovered, with my Canon EOS. The background stays the same and only the subject changes:

or multiple exposures of a profile with a background that is virtually a pattern:

or a profile in which the camera does not move, only the object:

I use three different ways to create multiple exposures; First, with the multiple exposure option (as with the Holga, Diana, or LaSardina). Second, if the camera does not have a multiple exposure option, I rewind after I shot it. You have to be careful not to twist it all the way in. Third, what I have also tried is, when scanning, simply scan two negatives on top of each other.

It's fun when you don't just move the camera sideways, or lift it higher between the exposures

you can also turn it upside down!

or play with different colors:

Just try everything and experiment!

Many thanks to Judith for sharing her experiences on multiple exposures with us! Check out her LomoHome and Instagram Profile and leave some love!
