Soho Photo Gallery's Krappy Kamera Competition 2022 Call for Entry

Calling all Lomographers! The Soho Photo Gallery recently announced its 24th International Krappy Kamera Competition, and we think it's an opportunity for you!

This competition is based on the philosophy that in the hands of any artist, great photographs can be made with basic equipment. No fancy cameras and fancy lenses needed! To explore this talent, they are searching for extraordinary photographs made with lousy lenses. Think of our Holga, Diana, and Pinhole cameras. You can also create your own Krappy Kamera by using your non-Krappy camera (e.g. 4x5, SLR, DSLR) and switching the lens with a Krappy lens (e.g. pinhole body cap or Holga-type lens). Cell phones, disposables, and point and shoots are ineligible. Old cameras do not mean Krappy—the type of lens is the determining factor!

2021 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners: Jean Guy Lathuiliere's Pyramid #8 (Pinhole/Camera Obscura), Hope Kahn-Hoffman's Murur (Pinhole), Adrienna Defendi's Set-Free (Holga)
