Hello Emma, how are you since the last time we talked to each other? Have you worked on any new projects?

Very good! These last few months I have worked on other projects that will soon be released, I am very excited. And I am constantly preparing others for which I take the necessary time to do them.

Can you tell us more about the set of photos we are presenting today? If you had to give it a title, what would it be?

It is a set of portraits that has no title but maybe we could call it "attitudes"! I really wanted to make a photoshoot with simple lighting and a white background that I expose in different ways. I chose multiple, colorful styles so that my model, Flora, could have fun. I think it is quite successful, it is one session in which we have several different things and I could use the images in a series.

What were your sources of inspiration?

I got my inspiration from images that had been lying around for a long time in one of my pinterest boards, I had saved many simple things that I liked very much. Stepping back, I realized that previously I had made very colorful photos or in a very busy environment, so I wanted to challenge myself: simplicity with an unknown and peculiar film.

What is your approach when you take pictures with models?

I leave a lot of room for my models to create with me. I share in advance the moodboard as well as the styling idea with them and I often ask my models for their opinion. The day of the shooting, if I have doubts about the colors of the clothes and the jewels I don't hesitate to ask them. It is important for me that they feel comfortable and free to propose things in terms of look but also poses and interpretations.

What do you like about fashion photography?

I prefer the actual fashion photography that is, at least in my eyes, more and more deconstructed. I speak of editorials and campaigns, even though I see lookbooks that are increasingly creative and inclusive. Fashion photography speaks more to me than before because I have the impression that there are less and less codes. We are more free to show and have fun, as well in the artistic direction as in the poses. We see models having fun, playing, making innovative poses, that sometimes will not showcase the clothes at all. It comes together, I am happy to see we are developing this human side and that we no longer consider models as unhappy clothes hangers.

What did you think of the LomoChrome Metropolis? Particularly in relation to the LomoChrome Purple that you had already tested ?

I really liked the warm but desaturated rendering in some colors, I want to try it again and make some exterior pictures with this film to see its limits. In my opinion, it is simpler to use and the colors speak more to me for any other project than the Purple which, for example, for shooting people, I like less. Both have their strengths, I'm thinking of using the Metropolis for human and lifestyle, and the Purple for still life and experimental.
